Crested Butte Academy
Crested Butte Academy is a selective preparatory school which offers students a great education, along with outstanding opportunities to train and excel at winter sports. Crested Butte Academy is located in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and provides two educational programs, a winter tutorial for those students who want to improve their winter sports ability while still maintaining their enrollment in their home schools and a Full Year program.
Crested Butte Academy's Winter Tutorial plan runs from November through April. Students who are enrolled in this plan maintain their enrollment in their home schools and continue their studies with the help of individual tutors from the Crested Butte Academy. The Full Year Program involves a rigorous curriculum which requires courses in the core academic subjects of English, math, history, foreign languages and science.
The classes at Crested Butte Academy are very small with the average student ratio being 1 to 7. Many graduating seniors have been accepted to such prestigious colleges as Dartmouth, Stanford, Duke, Pepperdine, Whitman and the University of Colorado.
Crested Butte Academy's Winter Tutorial program gives students the opportunity to pursue athletic and academic excellence at the highest level while maintaining enrollment in their home schools. The mornings are spent studying their home school's curriculum in individual tutorials. They then join Crested Butte Academy's Full Year students for world-class athletic training every afternoon. Due to the one-on-one learning environment, tutorial students often return to their home schools academically ahead.

1. Provide a synergistic program to make each athlete physically, mentally and emotionally strong.
2. Provide an educational program that teaches each athlete the need to set goals, make decisions and take responsibility.
3. Provide a technical program to develop and train athletes for local, regional, national and international competitions in an effort to prepare them to win at FIS, World Cup and Olympic competitions."
