Crested Butte Mountain Resort is located just three miles from the historic town, and is easily accessed by the convenient, free shuttle bus. Skiers and boarders come here for the best skiing at every level and the lack of crowds.
If you wish to improve your skiing or boarding skills, the Crested Butte Mountain School offers lessons for beginners and experts alike. There are even free guided tours of the resort, and clinics specifically for women and girls.
If you want to try some new terrain, backcountry skiing or snowboarding is an awesome way to experience the bliss of untracked powder.
Cross country skiing is a popular and convenient alternative to skiing and boarding, with the Nordic Center located right at the resort.
There are also snowshoe tours are offered daily, with moonlight tours often available.
After the lifts close, the kids will enjoy sledding on the snow tubing hill. For a fun family experience, try having dinner at 1,000 feet, complete with a festive sleigh ride.
You can also take a dog sled tour, rent snowmobiles, or simply spend a relaxing day exploring the great shops and restaurants in the quaint town of Crested Butte or Mt. Crested Butte right at the base of the resort.
