Colorado Adventure Sports Festival
The Colorado Adventure Sports Festival offers something for all outdoor enthusiasts. Previously a white water festival, activities now include kayaking, mountain biling, trail running, rock climbing, raft races, clinics, races, and a costume party concert. The event is intended as a festival to explore, experiment and strut your stuff with all extreme outdoor sports.
The Adventure Sports Festival is a prime way to see all the exciting outdoor recreation sports available in Crested Butte and Colorado. The festival is scheduled for June 23-25, 2006 and also plays host to the final stop of the Colorado Cup kayaking series. The event is held at the Gunnison Whitewater Park and other venues in the Crested Butte area. TEVA sponsors a race that includes kayaking, mountain biking and trail running and is a premier feature of the festival. There are races and competitions, but also clinics and fun raft races for the casual visitor. For kids, the festival hosts a foam boat race in which boats are carved from large foam pieces and then raced down a small river created by the Whitewater Park.
