Crested Butte Festival of the Arts
The 36th annual Crested Butte Festival for the Arts is scheduled for August 2-3, 2008, and is one of the most popular festivals in Colorado. The festival encourages all pieces to be original. Artists from all over the country including the best Crested Butte locals will display their affordable, one of a kind works of art in the historic downtown.
Artists will exhibit their creations in the categories of jewelry, fine arts, wood, photography, glass, floral, baskets, paper, clay, sculpture, mixed media, fabrics, wearable arts, leather and metal. Typically the festival welcomes 180 of the 400 artists that apply for showing space. So you are sure to find something unique and beautiful. Shops line Elk Street in historic downtown Crested Butte. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. each day. There is also live music all day, a magician, face painter and magic jumping castle so even the kids will be entertained. The food court offers everything from burgers to salmon to lemonade.
