Crested Butte Reel Fest
The Reel Fest is usually held in mid-August in beautiful Crested Butte, Colorado. There is already an impressive line up of short films that will be shown throughout the days of the festival. The festival aims to broaden the communities interest and appreciation for film as art and entertainment.
The festival features screenings of juried, single reel films in six categories:
- drama
- documentary
- comedy
- experimental
- animation
- action sports
Short films have viewing lengths of less than 40 minutes.
Documentaries running 60 minutes or less.
Each year, about 100 films are shown. The festival is highlighted with group discussions and festival parties held throughout Crested Butte. Many workshops are available for filmmakers and aspiring filmmakers on various topics in the industry.
