The Summit Hike in Crested Butte is held annually in an effort to raise money for those living with cancer. The hike goes up Mt. Crested Butte and provides breath taking 360 degree views.

Join Living Journeys on a hike to the top of Mt. Crested Butte (12,162 feet), and raise money to provide support, education and awareness to those living with cancer. The Crested Butte Summit Hike is a fund raising event to benefit people living with cancer and their loved ones. Money raised from the hike helps recipients pay medical bills and alleviate the stress of daily living expenses during their cancer treatments. The Summit Hike is hosted by Living Journeys, a non-profit organization. In 2010, Living Journeys contributed approximately $35,000 in counseling services and financial assistance to Gunnison County residents living with cancer.
PARTICIPANT CHECK-IN & LAST MINUTE REGISTRATION
New this year we will be checking participants in and doing last minute registrations the evening before the hike. You will be able to check in or register, receive your Hike booty and an ID bib so that on Saturday morning you can just show up and hike or run! Check-in will take place at The Mountain Store at 201 Elk Avenue from 4-8pm. If you miss that we will of course be registering and checking folks in on Saturday Morning at the Hike.Please remember to bring the money you collected in pledges as well as names and addresses of folks who donated.
Please encourage friends to come join us- even if they cannot hike they are welcome to come to the celebration and silent auction which begins at 11am at the base of the Silver Queen in the big white tentDY

Overview: Mt. Crested Butte is visible from downtown and stands 12,162 feet high. Dramatic views from the summit include the West Elk Mountains, the Raggeds, the Gunnison National Forest and the Snowmass/Maroon Bells Wilderness. For those feeling rugged, the hike is 11.5 miles round trip. For hikers who want to take the casual route, a chairlift is available and leaves a two mile round trip hike to the summit. The Summit Hike is a fund raiser to support and educate those living with cancer and help them with daily financial stresses.

When: Held every year in early August. This is a one day event.
Cost: There is a registration fee and hikers are asked to raise $100.00 in donations. Awards will be given out to the top fund raisers at the post hike party where food, prizes and raffle are available.
