Crested Butte Winter Carnival
Crested Butte is the home of outrageous events and Winter Carnival is at the top of the list. What all started in 2003, will be sure to amaze and entertain in the Winter of 2009. The 7th Annual Winter Carnival is sure to be the best party yet.
Winter Carnival is a fun and colorful event that benefits a valuable organization. The money raised goes to the Crested Butte Avalanche Center which provides snow safety information to locals and visitors.
Crested Butte transforms its downtown into an entertaining, wild winter paradise during the carnival.
Events include frozen miniature golf, snowshoe racing and ice bowling. There is also a contest between humans and rescue dogs to find buried avalanche beacons. The grand finale takes place on Elk Avenue with the famous downtown big air contest.
Winter Carnival is a couple off the wall days that are not to be missed in Crested Butte.
