Overview: The Elk Mountain Grand Traverse is a one of a kind race adventure. There is a mandatory gear check for all participants to ensure that everyone has the proper equipment to sustain them safely for 24 hours in the wilderness in case of emergency. After the gear check is a Pasta Feed to fuel up all racers.
Where: This race takes place int eh 40 miles of wilderness between Aspen and Crested Butte.
When: held every year in late March.
Cost: There is an entry fee for participants.
Details: The race begins at midnight and continues through the day. Racers will ski in teams of two and are required to stay together through all checkpoints. The course is sparsely marked throughout the wilderness so racers must be prepared to find their own way.
