Crested Butte has long been heralded as one of the best areas for mountain biking in Colorado, and this regional recreational series gives riders of any ability a great chance to see why.

From early July through August, the Powerade Pinnacle Race Series meets on Thursday evenings at the base of Mt. Crested Butte. From beginner to expert, this series caters to riders of all abilities and ages, and with 12 different racing competitions you can enter in everything from uphill climbs to cross-country rides. Each competition varies in difficulty and length. There is even a "running and biking" race, where you can choose to run, bike, or do both.
Other categories include expert, sport, beginner, and single speed for men, women, masters, and juniors. During the Powerade Pinnacle Race Series there is a Free Youth Series for kids giving them a great chance to compete in a friendly and fun atmosphere at the same time as their parents. Kids registration price is free, while adults pay a small fee that includes the race, a t-shirt, and dinner after the races. Prizes are awarded to top competitors in each category.
