Many of the rivers in Colorado easily lend themselves to the joy that anglers have when casting their lines into calm, pristine streams. As a tributary of the East River, the Slate River is not one of the best choices for finding those big fish.
However, the scenery surrounding the Slate can make for a very enjoyable day. Surrounded by mountains and flowing through valleys, the river provides picturesque scenery and places for quiet contemplation. Check with local guides and outfitters to find the best places to enjoy fly-fishing along the Slate River.
