Starting at the base of the Monarch Pass and flowing along or near US Highway 50 west toward the town of Gunnison, where it joins the Gunnison River, Tomichi Creek is a great place to enjoy fly-fishing. Although much of the Tomichi actually flows through private property, there is an easy public access just off US Highway 50 at the narrow part of the canyon. There is also another public access from the Snowblind Campground upstream nearly two miles toward Whitepine.
Cast your line into the pristine waters of Tomichi Creek and while you are waiting for that "bite" – enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
