Grand Junction is home to the Colorado National Monument.  You'll get to enjoy over 23,000 acres of pristine natural beauty, complete with sandstone cliffs, arches, and canyons that were formed over 1 billion years ago.  The Rim Rock Road allows you up-close views of these natural wonders for 23 sinuous miles.  You won't want to forget your tent, as camping is an exciting was to take in the Colorado National Monument.

More outdoor adventure in Grand Junction can be found in the Grand Mesa National Forest.  The Grand Mesa is the largest flat topped mountain in the world, and soars to a height of 11,000 feet.  The top is lush with forest while the valley below is filled with sagebrush.  Grand Mesa National Forest offers excellent hiking, camping, boating, and cross-country skiing.

Among the cultural activities you can partake in include wine tasting and visiting a few of Grand Junction's vineyards and orchards.  Guided tours are offered at most vineyards.  Downtown Grand Junction also offers a variety of restaurants, theaters, and shops that provide relaxation and fun.  Museums also abound in Grand Junction.  Very popular is the Dinosaur Journey Museum of Western Colorado where you can participate in an actual dinosaur dig.
