Don't forget your tennis racquet when you come to Crested Butte. While many of the condos and hotels in the area have courts nearby, there are also 3 public courts open for anyone who wants to play an intense match, or simply hit the ball around.
Playing tennis in Crested Butte is a great way to get outside and enjoy the Colorado sunshine. The town courts, located right in the heart of Crested Butte, are a wonderful place to play and meet new people.
If you want to improve your play, try taking group lessons. Throughout the summer lessons are available a few times a week; check in with Crested Butte Parks and Recreation for a schedule when you get to town.
Every Friday morning from early June through early September, local and visiting female tennis players get together for some lively round robin doubles.
For more seasoned tennis players, there is a singles and doubles tournament in the beginning of July.
