The Crested Butte School of Dance welcomes those dancers who are considered to be pre-professional dancers who want to acquire a higher level of achievement in addition to recreational dancers.

Students at the School of Dance range in age from 3 years to 50+ years. The levels of training vary from beginner to advanced. Each May, a dance recital is held at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. Some of the classes taught include Jazz and Tap Intensive. Creative movement is also taught at the pre-school level and the School of Dance participates in music education in the elementary school of the community.

The Crested Butte Company has a Sister-Cities-in-the-Arts relationship with Signa, Italy and has performed in Italy as well as welcomed the Italian dance company - Dance Connection - to Colorado.
