Taylor Park Reservoir
The large body of water created by the Taylor Park Dam is known as the Taylor Park Reservoir. This is a scenic body of water with various opportunities for fishing, camping and boating. Located approximately thirty-five miles northeast of Gunnison, Colorado, the Taylor Park Reservoir is a part of the Uncompahgre Project.
Taylor Park Reservoir is a great place for fishing. The various fish species in the reservoir include cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, Kokanee salmon, mackinaw and northern pike. The tributaries, which feed into the reservoir, are home to brook trout. You can choose to either cast your line from the shore or take a boat. At an elevation of 9300 feet, the air here is clean, clear and crisp.
On the southern edge of the Reservoir is the marina, which can provide you with all the equipment you need for fishing or simply boating. The northern edge of the Reservoir is bordered by the majestic beauty of the Sawatch Range.
