Overview
Crested Butte snowboarding is renowned for its extreme freeriding terrain, a well-earned reputation. But its three terrain parks, superpipe and beginner and intermediate terrain should not be overlooked.
Where to go snowboarding
Check out these notable areas:
Hop on the Red Lady Express Lift for all kinds of green cruiser runs. Mineral Point and Poverty Gulch are two favorites.
Gold Link and Prospect lifts serve exclusively blue runs. For more elevation and less crowds, try Palisade Bowl for some of the best blue terrain in Colorado.
Log frequent flier miles on the extreme terrain found in the Extreme Limits and Teocalli Bowl. Also, the vaunted North Face has steep tree runs and several mini-bowls, while Banana Funnel is couloir heaven.
Instruction & Rentals
Crested Butte snowboard instructors conduct private and daily group lessons starting at $145 a day.
Several shops offer quality snowboard rentals both in town and on the mountain starting at $25 a day.
